I have a travel blog but what you don't know is that I am totally scared of being taken.
I've never even seen the movie.
I'm convinced with what little I do know, that I would have never moved to Europe had I.
ignorance is bliss.
I am a pretty independent person, open to new experiences, new people, new places ... but if my gut says somethings off about a situation. that's it! i am outta there. or never there in the first place.
so though i may seem fiercely fearless traveling to russia with my husband (wait a minute... maybe i don't...) there's definitely a scaredy cat in here somewhere. (:

um..so...when i was in high school my friend's dad was pretty high up in a bank operating in mexico city. so we went there for the summer and had to take classes on "avoiding being kidnapped" and were followed around by armed body guards. so yea, i'm freaked out also.
I love Sarah and I have to say, I live in Europe and have seen the movie and I am totally afraid of being taken, too! My husband thinks I'm nuts, but I am ALWAYS watching my back...
I loved that movie but honestly it is a bit scary. Hostel was crazy too. Not sure I would have backppacked around Europe 10 years ago if I had seen those movies 1st.

The first time I left for England, my parents and I watched Taken, and I have regretted it ever since! Ignorance certainly is bliss!!:)

My family loves the movie Taken. We also love Liam Neeson, so that is probably why I have seen it a thousand times.
The movie is scary. But I think it probably had a positive affect on making a lot more people aware of their surroundings. My sister is a D1 basketball player, so travels a ton, and she said that remembering this movie has kept her from making some potentially supid decisions.
But I am still not sure I would recommend seeing it. I still get nightmares.
